The 131’ Oro Verde (meaning green gold) was relocated from its resting place in 1980 to its current west side home for divers’ enjoyment. Given the time it’s been submerged and after surviving several hurricanes this ship is more a wreck of a wreck which draws in an abundance of fish life. This large ecosystem makes for a stunning night dive. Two moorings descend to the stern and bow respectively allowing limited access to the remaining hold. As one of Cayman’s most popular dives the Oro Verde is a great example of a thriving artificial reef.
