This site, more wreckage than wreck, is the remains of a 375 foot freighter. The Balboa sunk in 1932 while traveling from Cuba to Grand Cayman. Hurricane winds and stormy seas smashed her hull against the dock area near Georgetown, bringing the freighter down into the depths. Amongst the wreckage strewn across the sand flats of this shallow area, coral and fish life have moved in, encrusting the rusted steel and swimming through its remaining holds.
